Equality and Diversity Notice

Commitment

Our vision is for St Oswald’s to be a successful, caring, and welcoming place for patients to receive dental care and advice. We want to create a supportive and inclusive environment where staff can reach their full potential and care is provided in partnership with patients, without prejudice or discrimination. We are committed to a culture of respect and recognise the value of individual diversity.

Non-discrimination rights are protected by the Equality Act 2010.

We will not treat any patient less favourably because of their age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

Supporting Equality

We support and develop equality and diversity by tackling oral health inequalities through positive promotion and care. This means providing information in languages other than English where required, having translation services available, taking reasonable steps to ensure service accessibility for patients with a disability, ensuring that care meets individual needs, and working closely with other medical and social services involved in a patient’s care.

We monitor the effectiveness of this policy and its impact on other relevant policies and practice systems.

Concerns and Comments

If you believe you have been treated contrary to this policy, or you have comments on how it could work better, please contact Mark or Edward Coppen at the practice. We will investigate all concerns and, where appropriate, take necessary action.
